The suspects Lucy Wanjiku, Christopher Omira and Augostine Aikonzi appeared before Keroka Resident Magistrate SK Alome.

The prosecution told the court that the trio dangerous individuals have been stealing from innocent people pretending to be M-Pesa agents.

The court heard that the trio who claimed to be traders in Keroka town escaped from Keroka to Nakuru after their dubious dealings were discovered.

The prosecution side further argued that the trio were apprehended from their hideout in Nakuru county on Sunday before they were ferried to Nyamira to be charged.

However, the suspects denied the fraud charges leveled against them and pleaded with the court to free them on bond.

Magistrate SK dismissed the suspects' plea to be released on bond.

The magistrate ordered the suspects to remain in remand for the next two days to give detectives enough time to complete investigations adding that any member of the public found engaging in fraud will not be spared.
