A man has died during a drinking spree at an MCA's home in Matungulu, Machakos County.
Patrick Kimeu (37) passed on after he allegedly engaged in too much drinking of alcohol at Matungulu East MCA Cosmus Ngula's home in Katwanyaa village on Monday night.
Matungulu chief Wellington Ndawa said the deceased was among other locals who had attended a party at the MCA's home when the tragedy struck on the fateful night.
"The MCA had hosted a party to celebrate the new year and had invited locals," Ndawa said.
Ndawa said the deceased was found dead inside the MCA's home on Tuesday morning.
He said the man slept on the pavement within the compound since he was unable to go home like others.
"The guy had too much drinks that he couldn't go home despite being a stone throw away. So, he slept outside only to be found dead in the morning by the family members," Ndawa told this writer.
The MCA, Cosmus Ngula, said they were done with the celebrations by 2.00am and the man begged to go home since he was really drunk.
"Only to be woken up in the morning that the man was dead in my compound," Ngula said.
The body was removed to Kangundo Level 4 Hospital's mourtuary.
