A middle-aged man has gone into hiding after raping his stepmother.
The incident happened on Sunday night in Nyagancha area in Kitutu Chache South constituency in Kisii County.
It is alleged that the suspect, Alphonce Moindi sneaked into his step mother’s bedroom at midnight where he defiled the woman several times before he fled.
“Moindi is bhang addict and he broke into his step mother’s house who was drunk and raped her before he disappeared into the darkness after neighbors responded to the screams,” said Raphael Ondigo.
Area chief Fidelis Mogeni confirmed the incident and said the matter has been reported to police who have launched a manhunt for the suspect.
He said the woman went to Nyagancha dispensary where she tested positive for rape.
Mogeni warned local youths against raping women who are alcoholic and minors saying the law will not spare them.
The administrator said the suspect will not be allowed to return in the village.
