The ODM party will regroup and teach DP William Ruto 'bitter' lessons over his continued trips to Gusii region, Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati has warned.
On Saturday, Ruto is expected to return to Gusii, his 20th combined trip to Nyamira and Kisii Counties, where he's expected to preside over a fundraiser in Gusii stadium.
Addressing hundreds of Abagusii community members are Embakasi South constituency, Arati said he will not allow Ruto to continue hoodwinking locals through non existent projects.
"We are fighting a big war. People who hold the country ransom by promoting grand theft. We shall ensure that he (Ruto) fails miserably. He has been launching ghost projects and I am told he will return on Saturday," Arati said.
Further, he said, Ruto's persistent jibes at Raila Odinga will not materialise, adding that his trips will not yield the intended purpose in 2022 polls.
"He has been launching ghost projects and I wonder what he's going to tell people again. Attacking Raila will only worsen things. We are ready to teach him a bitter lesson in 2022," added the self proclaimed Abagusii community spokesperson.
Dr Ruto has been traversing the larger Gusii region and do far, he has managed to bring several MPs on board. However, he's still facing resistance from a section of ODM leaders.
During the function, former Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire also accused Dr Ruto of frustrating efforts in the fight against corruption, adding that Kenyans should reject him.
"It is quite sad that when the president is fighting corruption, someone is dragging him back. They are stealing from taxpayers and loiter around in the name of fundraisers. We shall not allow that," he said.
