Preparations are underway in Kisumu as the county readies itself to host President Uhuru Kenyatta, next week.
The Head of State is expected to among others, preside over the official launch of the Universal Healthcare on December 13.
This comes barely two weeks after first lady Margaret Kenyatta launched her Beyond Zero caravan in the same county.
In preparation, security has since been tightened to assure the holder of the nation's top office his security, reports the Standard.
This follows a series of meetings among security chiefs in the county, with reports indicating that Governor Anyang Nyongo also attended a security meeting in Nairobi State House on Monday.
The Kisumu State lodge is also undergoing some renovations considering that it has been quite long before the president occupied it.
The security at the premise has also been tightened ahead of time.
Some buildings have also been repainted, with the county working tirelessly to repair roads that the Head of State is expected to use.
On Thursday, the county concentrated on replacing old cabro paving blocks on Kenyatta Highway and Oginga Odinga Avenue, as was the case with major road pavements.
He is expected to be received by African Union High Representative for Infrastructure Development Raila Odinga.
