The governor decided to distribute success cards bearing his portrait to the students as he wished them success and luck in the papers.

In a long message posted on Facebook, the governor reminded the candidates that there was no other secret to exams apart from preparing well during studies.

He also offered to give bursaries to the needy students during next year's form one intake.

"They say there are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work and learning from failure. Earlier today my team had the opportunity to motivate and issue success cards to candidates of the 2018 KCPE exams in primary schools within Nairobi City County. My administration is determined to ensure candidates from Nairobi City excel in the national exams by providing a conducive environment for them during the exams. The Nairobi City County Government will offer full secondary school scholarship to KCPE candidates in Nairobi who will manage to score 400 marks and above in this year’s exam. I wish all KCPE and KCSE candidates success in this year’s national exams," read his post.

Last year, it was Siaya governor Cornel Rasanga whose name was inscribed on mock exam papers in the county, something that led to a huge outcry from Siaya as well as across the country.
