Nyeri Town member of parliament Ngunjiri Wambugu has applauded Kalenjin members of parliament for playing mature politics during president Uhuru Kenyatta visit in Eldoret.
President Kenyatta was on Friday in Eldoret town to open the Rivatex East Africa limited.
Through his official Facebook page, Ngunjiri said the MP's did very well by lobbying for development.
"They even avoided political issues that they know annoy the President and in return, he gave them what they asked for," Ngunjiri said.
Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi who has been playing the 2022 succession politics avoided it and instead called on President Uhuru Kenyatta to bring development to the region.
Other leaders from the region who spoke including the deputy president William Ruto kept away from politics.
"This is what I wish Mt Kenya MPs could do. We had started so well last year in Naivasha, and then in Nyeri when we met the President. Then 2022 politics crept back in we went in different directions," said Ngunjiri Wambugu.
The Nyeri town MP noted that if politicians will start doing development instead of concentrating on the 2022 succession politics, their people will get the development they want.
Wambugu who is in the Kieleweke Camp which is against the deputy president William Ruto presidency has been vocal in condemning the Tangatanga camp for premature 2022 politics instead urging them to concentrate on development.
