Popular Kenyan hip hop musician Henry Ohanga better known as Octopizzo has sent a piece of advice to young upcoming musicians.
Taking to his Instagram page, the 'Noma Ni' hitmaker shared five key points that would not only enable an upcoming musician to rise to the top but also remain relevant in the Kenyan music industry.
The rapper was precise and straight to the point while listing the characteristics that an artiste should acquire in order to be successful in the entertainment industry. Some of the points highlighted by Octopizzo included; connections, money, luck and consistency among others.
Octopizzo pointed out that his success can be attributed to hard work and his desire to learn.
"To upcoming creatives out there, some motivation on how to make it in any industry where there’s not nearly enough opportunities for everyone interested: 1) Have Connections/Money 2) Be lucky 3) Create a new lane 4) Outwork everyone else 5) Never stop learning. I used #4 & #5 coz that’s what has kept me consistent for 11yrs & still going strong," Octopizzo wrote on his Instagram page.
Octopizzo who hails from Kibera slums is one of the most celebrated Kenyan musicians who have stood the test of time and are still relevant despite the changes taking place in the music industry.
