An MP in Kisii County has insisted that leaders from Nyamira and Kisii counties whether elected or not should accord Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i proper respect.
Bobasi MP Innocent Obiri opined that Matiang’i has been doing a good job since he was appointed to the Education docket in 2013 and now the Interior docket making the Abagusii community respected countrywide.
“I urge leaders from Borabu in Nyamira County where Matiang’i hails from and those from Kisii County including myself to respect Matiang’i because he has made the Abagusii community proud,” said Obiri.
The vocal legislator disputed claims that Matiang’i does not deserve to run for the presidency saying should he vie, he will be enjoying his constitutional rights.
Obiri appealed to Matiang’i's critics to stop interfering with the excellent work the Cabinet Secretary is doing as far as matters security are concerned.
“At times, CS Matiang’i issues tough orders which do not go as critics expect. Criticism will never be a solution. Members of the Abagusii community as a whole should stand firm and ensure fingers are not thrown to Matiang’i due to his hard work, something that has brought about respect to the Abagusii community,” added Obiri.
