Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp has confirmed Sadio Mane's return date to the club.
Speaking to club's website, the Champions League winner coach revealed that Mane is in good shape and lauded the player's commitment in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) held in Egypt which saw his team Senegal being placed at position two after being triumphed by Algeria 1-0.
“He is in good shape. Obviously, they had a celebration in Senegal and I’m happy about that because it showed that they respect the competition and saw the second place as a success, which is nice," revealed Klopp.
Mane is set to miss Community Shield clash with Manchester City, however, he is expected to appear against Norwich then Chelsea in the race to English Premier League title (EPL).
“He is now on holiday, not the longest one – he will be back on August 5, after the Manchester City game. That means he had two weeks. There are four or five days to prepare for Norwich, 10 days for Chelsea [in the UEFA Super Cup]," added Klopp.
Sadio Mane was pivotal to Senegal team at the AFCON 2019 in which he scored one goal against Kenya's Harambee Stars on penalty spot at Group C final match, however, the first penalty saved by Patrick Matasi, Kenya's goalkeeper.
Mane was also a regular starter for Liverpool last season campaign that saw them winning the much-coveted Champions League after beating their EPL rivals Tottenham 2-0.
