The DP three weeks ago raised alarm about the said plot, following the emergence of a letter claiming that some top state officials have been holding meetings with the intention.

Among those implicated in the letter was Kibicho and Cabinet Secretaries Peter Munya (Trade), James Macharia (Transport), Sicily Kariuki (Health) and Joe Mucheru (ICT).

Weda on Wednesday observed that the implication of a top security official in the same would automatically cause fears in any quarters, hence Ruto's fears.

"We have seen people being killed in Kenya. You must be worried especially if security bosses are people like Kibicho," he said, on KBC English Service's The Big Conversation show.

But at the same time he advised the DP to address such matters with care going forward, observing that if made without solid proof they could cause trouble in the nation.

He said that such are very likely to cause havoc among common citizens, most of who whom must be worried about their fate now that one of the most protected persons is living in fear.

"I also urge the Deputy President; Don't be too hasty. If you tell us your life is in danger then who is safe?" he added.

Responding to the allegations on Monday, Kibicho said that the fact that no official complaint has been made is direct proof that the allegations are baseless.
