Kikuyu Member of Parliament Kimani Ichung'wa has responded to the Daily Nation Newspaper headline that reads; 'Why Uhuru is troubled and angry.' This with sentiments of a rift in the Jubilee party.
In a tweet on Friday morning, Ichung'wa dismissed it saying that Jubilee is still intact as a party.
''I am and I believe many Jubilee MPs are very Loyal to the President and his Deputy @WilliamsRuto. It is the THIRD party spoilers in and out of government that we refuse to bow to,'' said Kimani Ichung'wa.
Inside the story, Nation indicated that the head of state is having a hard time in his home area with a section of MPs clearly have switched allegiance.
''That the president is facing an outright rebellion in his Mt Kenya backyard is now clear, as the bulk of Jubilee MP’s who hitherto supported him appear to have switched loyalties,'' reads the Nation paper on the cover.
On Wednesday, President Uhuru Kenyatta visited the Mt Kenya region.
He addressed various issues concerning the Building Bridges Initiative. A visibly angry Uhuru told off critics of the BBI report.
Uhuru warned some legislators politicking everything in the country. He noted that the fact that he has remained silent over the 2022 presidential politics doesn't mean he is stupid.
Various Mt Kenya leaders, with Ichung'wa being one of them support DP Ruto.
They have on various occasions been calling on the Uhuru to endorse him for the top seat.
