Renowned activist Nazlin Umar has taken issue with President Uhuru Kenyatta over the suspension of his social media accounts and the extension of Huduma Namba registration.
Umar, who is Garissa Township MP Aden Duale’s ex-lover, said President Kenyatta should explain to Kenyans why his social media pages on Twittter and Facebook were suspended.
She also wants the president to explain his prolonged absence from the public eye for about two weeks ago which raised questions about his whereabouts.
Umar, through her Facebook account, further questioned why Kenyatta and Interior CS Fred Matiang’i were threatening Kenyans to register for Huduma Number.
The former presidential candidate who is one of the high-profile activist from North Eastern region, has maintained that she will not register for Huduma because there has been no public participation and law to protect Kenyans.
“Resist!! #Mikora !!. Lets be candid. President Kenyatta should tell us why he shut down all his social media accounts, where he has been & what his family interests are in the illicit # Hudumanambascam ! He extends the illicit "deadline" for one week while his officers and # Matiangi are threatening and intimidating Kenyans to register or else.”
“I'm interested in the OR ELSE part. And I am ready to be declared a persona non grata. There has been NO public participation and No Law to protect your privacy nor biometrics. Run! Remember the reasons I gave you. Resist! You are not safe when registered. Protect your rights!! Protect your freedom. #mamakenya #freedomFighter #IconofTruth !RESIST!,” posted Umar on Facebook.
President Kenyatta on Friday extended the deadline for mass registration of Huduma Namba by a week.
