Although the changes have not been communicated formally, Uhuru was seen with a new ADC at State House on Tuesday while rewarding police officers with Head of State Commendation.

The recent promotions in the military may have led to deployment of Lt. Col Timothy Stelu in the engaging assignment, replacing Mburu, who was selected from among Kenya Army wing.

Mr. Stelu was seen in white attires indicating that he comes from the General Samson Mwathethe's Navy team.

In an interview last year, former military spokesman Bogita Ongeri noted that such changes are done within a span of three years but can sometimes be affected by the age or promotions which could effected anytime.

Aide-de-Camp acts as the president's personal assistant besides guarding the Head of State in national functions.

Usually, the changes are done in consultation with National Defence Council, the powerful security organ in the country.

While it is not clear why Mburu was evicted barely a year in service, it is likely that he may have been promoted to Colonel rank in the latest military changes.

Stelu will be Uhuru's third ADC in a span of six years after he carried on with Colonel Peter Njiru from Mwai Kibaki's administration until 2017 August.

Notably, Stelu becomes the first ADC from outside Kenya Army in the history of Kenya.
