There was drama in Naivasha on Thursday evening when a Naivasha-based businessman fired several rounds over a land dispute.
Confirming the incident, Naivasha Sub-County police commander Samuel Waweru said the businessman identified as Evans Kageche was arrested after shooting in the air.
Waweru said the suspect fired several rounds in the air to frighten away five guards at the parcel of land which is situated at least 10 kilometres from Naivasha town.
The police commander said the guards were deployed at the disputed land to ensure no one enters or occupies the land until the matter regarding the land is settled.
Waweru said no one was injured during the Thursday evening incident when the businessman ambushed the property.
“We managed to arrest the tycoon moments after the gun drama and he is scheduled to appear in court,” said Waweru as quoted by nation.co.ke.
The frightened guards were too scared to resume work but the police commander assured them that enough security will be provided.
Waweru said action will be taken against the businessman for trying to take over the farm forcefully when the matter is still pending in court.
“We managed to arrest the tycoon moments after the gun drama and he is scheduled to appear in court,” added Waweru.
