Kesses MP Dr Swarup Mishra has hit out at a section of Cabinet Secretaries who were allegedly plotting to assassinate Deputy President William Ruto.
Cabinet Secretaries Peter Munya (Trade), Sicily Kariuki (Health), Joe Mucheru (ICT) and James Macharia (Transport) were on Monday summoned by the Directorate of Criminal Investigation to record statements over the matter.
Mishra while speaking in Tarakwa on Monday, hit out at the CSs saying that such a plot can never see the light of day.
"As leaders from the Rift Valley region we are disturbed with the news and we call upon the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) to do thorough investigations on the same and bring those involved to book," he stated.
In reference to Ruto's 2022 presidential ambitions, Mishra noted that it is only God who has the final say and not an assassination plot.
"We didn't expect our Cabinet Secretaries to have such plans to our beloved Deputy President. Their plans will fail because when God protects, nobody will touch him," added the Kesses MP.
He further called on President Uhuru Kenyatta to call for an emergency political crisis meeting to look into the matter which might bring division in the party.
He said that with Uhuru as the party leader, he should find a way to solve the issue.
