Kisii County Governor James Ongwaemade a surprise visit to Kenyenya sub-county hospital in Bomachoge on Wednesday where he took goodies.
The county boss officially graced the launch of the Maternal- Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) and theatre which are products of a partnership with the Aga Khan Development Network.
He said the launch of MNCH is a culmination of a long journey that began in November 2016 when his administration signed a partnership agreement with the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) on the development of the Maternal and Child Health project.
"I am happy we have opened the facilities for public use exactly one year after. The facility will play a key role in our plans to expand the health sector and benefit residents of larger Bomachoge and neighbouring sub-counties," said the ODM allied Governor.
Ongwae assured that his government has prioritised health services.
"My government is committed to ensure residents get affordable health care in all public health schools. Drugs will be given for free to residents seeking medical attention at public health facilities," stated Ongwae.
He warned health workers over laxity and incompetence.
