Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi has reiterated his ambition for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat, saying that he will be going for the top seat in 2022.
Speaking on Tuesday on Radio Maisha, the lawmaker stated that he is fit and will be seeking to either succeed or unseat Governor Mike Sonko in the much anticipated general elections.
Wanyonyi termed himself as the man who will help the city realize its ambitions to become a better place, saying that he is getting ready to steer the county to prosperity.
"I want to enter into the gubernatorial field. I want Nairobi to be governed satisfactorily (Nataka kuingia katika ile kiwanja ya ugavana. Nataka Nairobi iendeshwe kwa njia ya kuridhisha )," he said.
Asked if he has what it takes to join the higher league, the lawmaker who doubles up as a Ford Kenya party leader and Senator Moses Wetangula's brother, termed himself fit for the race and top leadership.
He likened himself to a man crossing a river, stating that he has since tested the depth of the river and realized that he can go across.
"I have done my considerations. I have placed one led in this river and found that I am steady and can proceed (Tayari nishaoima. Nimeweka mguu mmoja ndani ya mto huu nikaona niko steady na naweza enda mbele)," he added.
