Nominated MP from Narok David Ole Sankok has said that he expects the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report will advocate for the reduction of posts in government.
Speaking on Tuesday during an interview with K24, Sankok said that the increase in the leadership positions will be a burden to Kenyans from different walks of life.
He divulged that time has come for the government to cut its size to allow for the reduction of the wage bill. The lawmaker said that the government is spending huge sums of money on salaries and allowances at the expense of the taxpayers."My speculation is that there will be no addition of more posts and rather reduction," he said.
Deputy President William Ruto has in the past held similar views stating Kenyans should not support the proposals if they call for expansion of the Executive.
His Kisumu Central counterpart Fred Ouda, who spoke during the same interview, said that there is a need to fix the current system of governance.Obuda noted that the current system has endless loopholes that have left residents poor."Our Kenyan system has not been fixed but I hope it will be fixed," he argued. President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga are set to receive the BBI Report on Tuesday.
