Narok County Senator Ledama Ole Kina has said that the economy of the country is doing well.
Speaking during an interview with Citizen TV on Monday, Ledama said that the protests organized by the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) after the 2017 General elections contributed to the growth of the economy.
He noted that the party has kept the government on its toes as President Uhuru Kenyatta seeks to achieve the Big Four Agenda before he completes his last term in office.
He alluded that different sectors are thriving after Uhuru agreed to bury his differences with ODM leader Raila Odinga Amolo in the famous handshake, adding that not for peace Kenyans will be telling a different story today.
"The current economy is doing well; has the potential of doing well because of what we in ODM, in the opposition did. ODM carried out a protest for the interest of this nation," he said.
The legislator, however, poked holes in the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report saying that it does not reflect the needs of the people of his community.
He affirmed that he will only back a report that has the rest of the Maasai and other minor communities at its centre. He also said that there is a need for reforms but they must be all-inclusive.
