Doreen Moraa is an HIV/AIDs patient who has lived with these condition for almost 26 years now. Through her Facebook page, she revealed this news yesterday which took many by surprise.
“I have lived with HIV for almost 26 years now it hasn’t been easy the stigma, the denial, the defaulting from taking drugs, going to televangelists for prayers in the hope of getting a cure, to the extent of going to Loliondo yes I went there and drank that cup but I didn’t get cured and because I was dealing with self-stigma I stopped taking my ARVs for 2 years,” she wrote.
Doreen is among the few Kenyans who felt that Ruth Kamande made a mistake by stabbing her boyfriend after realizing he was taking HIV/AIDs drugs.
She reminded many people that HIV/AIDs is not a death sentence. She felt sorry for Ruth who stabbed her boyfriend after realizing he was HIV positive.
According to Doreen, Fareed would be alive today if Ruth just walked away when she realized he was positive.
More so, Doreen emphasizes that HIV/AID/s is not a killer disease, it’s not a death sentence or end of life. She recounts the many struggles she has gone through before accepting her condition.
She believes people can live with this condition for as long as they were supposed to if they take drugs, do exercises and live healthy lives.
In her Facebook post, she wrote: #HIVISNOTADEATHSENTENCE.”
