President Uhuru Kenyatta has released information regarding the number of those fatally injured in the attack that the Al-Shabaab proclaimed to have conducted in Nairobi's  Riverside area.

“As this moment I want to confirm that fourteen innocent people lost their lives in the hands of this murderous terrorists with others injured,"

President said the country was in a sorrowful moment calling for continued prayers for those who lost their loved ones as the security organs continue with the investigations.

Giving his address from Statehouse while flank by his Deputy William Ruto, the president vowed that those behind the heinous act will be followed up to ensure they been brought on books.

President Kenyatta farther urged Kenyans to maintain peace and embrace brotherhood.

The president commended the civilians for helping in the evacuating several persons from the scene.

"I commend the civilians who took the time to look after one another. For every act of evil that led to injury yesterday, there were dozens of acts of compassion, overflowing patriotism and individual courage," stated President Kenyatta.

He reiterated that Kenya remains unbowed to threats of terror but will forge ahead to ensure the country is safe within its boundaries
