Deputy President William Ruto on Monday toured Garissa County accompanied by local leaders and he launched several development projects.
DP Ruto launched the construction of Debaburi, Garissa Ndogo-Sankuri link road in the county which will cost Sh480.7 million.
The road will be constructed by the Kenya Urnam Roads Authority and is expected to improve security, service delivery, drainage system and also attract investment in the region.
Ruto also issued a 51-seater bus to the Kenya Medical Training College-Garissa Campus and urged the youth to enroll for technical courses adding that the government will establish more vocational training centres.
“To ensure education for all Kenyan children, the government is collaborating with religious and private institutions to provide infrastructure for smooth learning,” he said.
DP Ruto also commissioned six boreholes in Iftin and ADC area which were constructed by the county government.
Ruto together with Garissa Township MP Aden Duale, presided over a funds drive where they raised more than Sh20 million for several Islamic institutions.
