The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga has called for a more inclusive and accountable political system.
Raila claimed that Kenyans are always disappointed and failed by divisive politics.
He went ahead to point out that the political system should be structured in a manner that everybody's need and safety is taken care of regardless of who is the president.
According to Raila, the recommendations in the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report will help the country to develop a good political system.
"Nothing fails Kenya like divisive elections and we must have a more inclusive and accountable political system in which everyone feels included and safe regardless of who the leader of the country is. This is what BBI is pursuing," Raila stated on Twitter.
The ODM leader shared the statement shortly after attending a rally at Bukhungu Stadium, Kakamega.
The objective of the rally was to popularize the report while at the same time convince Kenyans to support the document.
The BBI report has recommended for the creation of a Prime Minister post.
Some of the leaders have however alleged Raila is plotting to gain power through the BBI report.
His comment on the safety of everyone regardless of who the head of state also comes at a time when supporters of Deputy President William Ruto have complained of intimidation amid claims of the fall out between DP Ruto and President Uhuru Kenyatta.
