Kenyan musician Bien Baraza of the Sauti Sol band has clarified on his relationship with popular Nigerian singer Yemi Alade.
This is after allegations emerged that the two could be dating. Speaking to Tanzania's Clouds Media Bien revealed that he does not have any romantic relationship with the singer and added that she was like a sister to him.
He explained that the confusion stemmed from the fact that his wife was also a Nigerian and came from the same community as Yemi Alade.
Bien's girlfriend, Chiki Onwukwe Kuruka comes from the Ibo community.
"My wife is a Nigerian. I have married an Ibo girl and Yemi is also an Ibo. So I have married Yemi's sister. But I want to say thank you to Tanzanians for putting on that level that a simple man like me can get Yemi."
Bien and Chiki have been dating since 2013 and he proposed to her early this year.
Yemi and Bien, on the other hand, have had a successful professional relationship that led to the birth of Yemi hit song 'Asante'.
