Migori Governor Okoth Obado has criticised his party ODM for nominating Ochilo Ayacko for the senatorial race.
This is after ODM handed Ayacko a direct ticket for the seat that was left after the death of Ben Oluoch.
Speaking on Friday, Obado accused the party of imposing candidates on voters.
"We will not allow two or three people to sit in Nairobi and dictate where Migori residents should go as if we are blind."We will not accept the decision. It will affect the outcome of the 2022 election as a few people will decide who should be voted for, from MCA to all other seats," he stated.
He was addressing the press following the dismissal of a petition filed against his Ayacko.
He further warned that the move by ODM officials would have an impact on the 2022 elections as a few people would seek to control all the electoral positions
Obado advised voters not to be swayed by the party decision, asserting that they should tell anyone who expects them to vote for him because of an endorsement.
The governor alleged that Ayacko had not adhered to a truce brokered between him and Ayacko ODM leader Raila Odinga.
