The Thirdway Alliance party has joined the ongoing encounter pitting opposition leader Raila Odinga and Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa.
Speaking on Radio Jambo's 'Mazungumzo Waziwazi' on Monday evening, the party Secretary General Frederick Okango faulted the CS over his recent attacks on Raila.
He accused the CS' incompetency, claiming that trying to hide behind the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader to conceal his inability to perform in that capacity.
"Kulingana na matamshi yake, huyu ni mtu asiyekuwa na manufaa yoyote kwa nchi hii (basing on his remarks, he is not in any way useful to this country and is unable to perform)," said Okango.
Okango joined the section of Odinga's allies similarly opposed to Echesa's conduct, noting that his remarks are against African cultural norms calling for respect for the elderly.
"Matamshi yake yanakiuka tamaduni za kiafrika zinazosema watu waheshimu wakubwa wao (he went against African culture compelling people to honour the elderly)," added Okango.
Among those who have also attacked Echesa is the Western Kenya youthful trio of nominated lawmaker Godfrey Osotsi, Kakamega Senator Cleopa Malala and Odinga's Orange party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna.
Echesa has since accused Raila of plotting his downfall, claiming that the leader is out to sabotage his stay in the cabinet.
