The interest of the papers stems from the fact that Tanzanians were mentioned in Jaguar's tirade.

Leading the pack was the Mwananchi newspaper which reported that Jaguar would spend 3 days at a Kileleshwa police station.

"Starehe Member of Parliament Charles Njagua will spend three more days at the Kileleshwa Police Station after a court ruled that there was a need to protect ongoing investigations into alleged xenophobic uuterances made by the MP. (Mbunge wa Starehe nchini Kenya, Charles Njagua ataendelea kusota rumande kwa siku tatu zaidi katika kituo cha polisi cha Kileleshwa baada ya mahakama kusema kuna haja ya kulinda uchunguzi unaoendeshwa kuhusu matamshi ya uchochezi anayodaiwa.), " the Mwananchi newspaper reported.

IPP Media-owned Nipashe also covered the latest twist in the Starehe MP's xenophobic utterances saga.

Nipashe chose to focus on the possible implications for business in the East African Community.

"Will MP Disrupt Business in the East African Community? (Mbunge kutibua biashara Jumuiya ya Africa Mashariki?)" Nipashe's headline screamed.

The English newspaper The Citizen broke the story. It reported that the MP was set to spend the weekend at the Kileleshwa Police Station.

"Starehe MP Charles Njagua alias Jaguar will spend the weekend in police cells as police continue investigating his remarks that have been deemed to spread xenophobia, " The Citizen of Tanzania reported.
