Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka has fully thrown his weight behind the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) push, terming it the solution to the country's long-term problems.

Speaking on Wednesday, the former Bungoma Governor lauded the proposals included in the BBI report, observing that they will greatly benefit Kenyans if implemented.

He also expressed confidence that the push will not counter any challenges on its way to implementation, despite the opposition it is already facing from a section of politicians.

"BBI us a good initiative with clauses set to initiate good change. I know that things will go on well (BBI ni jambo nzuri inayozungumzia maswala yatakayoleta mabadiliko mema na najua mambo itaenda sawa)," he said.

He spoke on Radio Maisha's Bunge La Maisha.

Lusaka further lauded the ongoing validation process through the regional BBI forums, observing that by so doing, Kenyans can approve the proposals and introduce more.

However, he stressed on the need for inclusion of all Kenyans, especially now that a section of leaders questioning the campaign, citing isolation and possible hidden motives.

He added that nobody is opposed to the changes, and those vocal against it are just trying to push for better handling of the push.

"Nobody is opposed to the BBI, those complaining just feel that it has excluded them or think that it is targeting someone (Hakuna mtu anapinga BBI, wale wanalalamika ni kwa sababu wanaona haiwajumuishi, na kwa sababu hiyo wanaona huenda ikawa inalenga kuumiza mtu fulani)," he added.
