Renowned social and political commentator Benji Ndolo has weighed in on the shooting of a university student who tried to scale the walls of State House.
Writing on Twitter on Tuesday, the social media personality wondered why a de-brief had not been done given that the student had allegedly posted his intentions on social media.
"Shouldn’t NIS and Presidential Guard perform a routine de-brief PRIOR, if a person threatens on social media to storm @StateHouseKenya ?? Seems there was an unfortunate lapse here but luckily no loss of life. #StateHouseIntruder," Benji Ndolo's tweet read.
The student who was injured after being shot at by officers manning State House is said to have been armed.
According to media reports, the university student wanted to "slay President Uhuru Kenyatta."
Investigations have been launched by law enforcement agencies to establish the motive of the student.
In another tweet, Mr Ndolo said that the undergraduate intruder was looking for 'thieves', a coded reference to the corruption in the country.
It is not clear whether the head of State was inside when the incident occurred.
This is not the first time that an attempt to scale the highly guarded walls of State House has been made.
