The form four leavers from Ambira High School in Siaya were last week filmed hurling insults at Cabinet Secretaries Fred Matiang'i (Interior) and Amina Mohammed (Education).

They were also bragging of having stolen the exams, while burning their books after completing their final paper of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams.

And with the group now in remand at the Ugunja Police Station, Weda says that it was wrong, and they should have been subjected to a separate form of punishment.

He claimed that the students were annoyed after being denied a chance to cheat, hence their remarks which he observed were aimed at annoying the CSs in exchange.

‘’They boys appears to have been annoyed after failing to cheat and were just trying to annoy the CSs in exchange for denying them the opportunity. People who have stolen do not announce it,’’ he said on KBC English Service's 'The Big Conversation' on Wednesday.

‘’I do not think we will get anywhere by taking  them to court, they should instead be punished outside and warned against disrespecting their elders,’’ he added.

Rarieda lawmaker and renowned lawyer Otiende Amollo has also called for the release of the group, terming the case baseless.
