Members of County Assembly (MCAs) anonymously approved the two, Ruth Jemutai Rop and Millicent Adhiambo Okonjo.

Jemutai, a youthful lawyer who unsuccessfully vied for the Uasin Gishu County Assembly Speaker’s position will serve as the Chief Officer in the Lands Department.

She is currently a State Counsel at the Office of the Attorney General and Department of Justice under the National Government in Eldoret town.

Okonjo, on the other hand, will be the Chief Officer for Finance.

While moving a motion to approve nomination of Okonjo, Ngeria MCA Stephen Letting who chairs the Finance and Economic Planning Committee said; “She is a highly experienced officer who has served the county for 13 years.”

Megun MCA Julius Sanga seconded the appointment pointing out that the nominee has right qualifications for the job which is needed in transforming the county.

After the Assembly’s approval, governor Mandago will now formally appoint them before they officially begin executing their mandate.
