Kisii Governor James Ogwae has Mourned the 6 people who perished on a tragic road accident on Friday at Dukamoja along Narok-Mai Mahiu highway.
According to police, a lorry rammed into a 14-seater Matatu into at Suswa area. Among the passengers were students and teachers.
"It is with the deepest sorrow that I have learnt of the death of 6 people following an accident involving a PSV van and a truck at Duka Moja along the Narok-Mahi Mahiu road. The tragedy is deepened by the loss of Mr Lameck Onkundi, Deputy Principal at Kenyenya Secondary School in Bomachoge Borabu," Mourned Ongwae.
Speaking to this writer on Saturday Morning, Ongwae has urged drivers to be cautious as we approach the busy festive season.
"I send my deepest sympathy to the families of the late Onkundi and all other victims of the accident. It is sad that we have to lose lives of Kenyans through road accidents that can be avoided. I urge drivers to be cautious on the road especially as we approach the busy festive season," Mourned Governor.
The governor has promised to stand with the affected families.
"I stand with the families of the deceased and I pray that the Almighty God gives them comfort and strength during this difficult moment," he said.
