Police officers in Kisii County have been warned against taking advantage of twilight girls to harass them sexually.
Kisii County Commissioner Godfrey Kigochi on Thursday fired warning shots to police officers who will boycott work to hire sex workers to have sex with them.
"Police should protect people and property during the Christmas celebrations. It is illegal for any police officer to use force on twilight girls and harass them sexually," he said.
He reiterated that throughout the festive season, security will be tight and no criminal activity will be condoned.
"Security officers are working around the clock to ensure no crime comes up during this Christmas season when locals will be celebrating with their loved ones," he added.
Kigochi said alcohol selling joints opening before the stipulated time will be closed down and owners be apprehended to face prosecution.
"Bars should be opened in line with the set rules and regulations. No underage should be admitted to nightclubs or be allowed to drink alcohol in bars. We are not going to relent war on the fight against drug abuse," said Kigochi.
