Jubilee deputy party leader Dr William Ruto has defended politicians supporting his 2022 Presidential bid against allegations of taking advantage of project launches to campaign for him.
According to the DP, the group dubbed 'Tanga Tanga' is comprised of elected leaders with a right to represent their people.
He further stated that they are responsible for the consequences of their utterances and maintained that he has never used such forums to propel 2022 campaigns.
"These are not forums. Just say when you go and open the road or you go and open the school like I did today. My friend, you know I am a part of the people who created this government. How can I take advantage of my own government? What are you saying? I am not a stranger to this development forums, I am the one, as part of this government who has orchestrated," Ruto said during the interview.
However, Ruto acknowledged cracks in Jubilee party but maintained that his political outfit is more organised than opposition parties. He promised to deal with the cracks.
"The Jubilee Party has issues. We now have camps calling themselves Tanga Tanga and Kieleweke. We cannot pretend that these issues are not there and they need to be addressed," DP Ruto stated.
