The former vice president is among the group of politicians who have been pushing for among others, an extension of the executive arm of government to include more individuals.

Kalonzo on Wednesday insisted that the proposal is very necessary in the push for an all-inclusive government, adding that a good number of politicians are in support of the proposal.

Among the leaders he mentioned is embattled former Jubilee Vice Chair David Murathe who has been under fire over his attacks on Deputy President William Ruto.

"There’s need to have an all-inclusive government. We’re working with everybody including David Murathe," said Kalonzo on Tony Gachoka's Point Blank show.

The referendum campaigners who are led by Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) boss Raila Odinga are also pushing for the replacement of the presidential governance system with a parliamentary one.

Regarding his relationship with Raila, Kalonzo said that he remains close to the former prime minister and is ready to work with him in the future.

"I work with Raila Odinga. As a matter of fact we went to watch football together in Cairo," he added.

Kalonzo backed Raila in the 2013 and 2017 presidential elections but snubbed the opposition chief's January 2018 mock swearing-in ceremony which was held at Uhuru Park.

This saw him subjected to attacks by Raila's allies who branded him a traitor and coward. The two leaders have since pledged support for President Uhuru Kenyatta.
