A first-time governor who was adversely mentioned in the shooting of former finance CEC Idris Muktar has cancelled a cheque meant for the latter's medical fund under unclear circumstances.
According to an informer within the governor's circles, the turn of events has surprised many even as the matter surfaced during a high profile meeting on Tuesday.
In the meeting, the county government had agreed to help foot some bills for the ailing Idris who is still admitted in the Nairobi Hospital private wing ICU section.
"We are confused and surprised at the new turn of events. The cheque was meant for Idris medical fund but has since been cancelled but we are yet to know more," the source said, on condition of anonymity.
