Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has weighed in on the heating 2022 presidential election debate, specifically opposition leader Raila Odinga's candidature.
Raila has remained silent on whether or not he will take his fifth shot at the top seat, keeping the nation guessing on his possible next move.
Appearing to be in a dilemma with regards to the issue, Kalonzo says that it is very hard to analyze the actual situation, judging by the former Premier's mode of politicking.
Asked what his advise to Raila would be, he said that the same would be an impossible mission as the latter stands for many things at the same time, is unpredictable and confusing.
“I do not think I can advise him at this point. What I can tell you is that he’s a very charismatic person, but it is very difficult to get into the real Raila, there are a number of them," he was quoted by the Saturday Standard.
He however expressed confidence that the veteran politician will back his 2022 presidential bid, basing on their initial agreements in the run up to the 2013 and 2017 elections.
The former Vice President deputized Odinga on both races, both of which the lost, and now says that their agreement automatically earns him Raila's support in the coming polls.
“Having supported Raila twice, and having ran once against his four tries, every Kenyan will be expecting me on the ballot. It is obvious and we will be giving it our best shot," he added.
The race is likely to pit him against Deputy President William Ruto whose candidature is already in the public domain.
