Speaking at a fundraiser at the PCEA church in Mwiki, Nairobi, Ruto said that Raila‘s mission is to ensure he doesn’t ascend to power come 2022.

The second in command insisted that Raila, a former Prime Minister, will not stop him from rising to the top leadership of this nation when that time comes. He maintained that he has what it takes to succeed Uhuru, who is completing his second and final term in office.

“The book of Mathew tells us we should beware of false prophets. They come like sheep when inside they are wolves,” he said in reference to Odinga, as quoted by Daily Nation.

He also said that he will not sit back and watch the party going down when he can rescue the same using all means within his reach.

“I am saying this as the Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya and the Deputy Party Leader of Jubilee, we will not allow them to bring chaos in the party,” he added.

DP Ruto was accompanied by several leaders including Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu and MPs John Kiarie (Dagoretti South), Kimani Ngunjiri (Bahati), Patrick Wainaina (Thika Town), Jeremiah Kioni (Ndaragua) and Benjamin Gathiru (Embakasi Central).
