Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa has issued a seven-day ultimatum to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation(DCI) to complete investigations on Deputy President William Ruto's assassination claims.
Speaking at St Teresa Catholic Church in Ngeria, Kapseret constituency during a funds drive on Sunday, he said Kenyans should know all about the case in the next seven days.
"If the seven days will elapse without them telling us anything we will call a meeting for all media houses and show Kenyans the video which consists the people who were planning to assassinate the DP and what they said on that particular day," said the Kimilili MP.
He said the claims are serious and should not be taken lightly citing that persons of interest in the case should be investigated thoroughly.
"How can a mere Cabinet Secretary and Principal Secretary plan to kill a sitting Deputy President? They should also be investigated for the many extrajudicial killings that have taken place in the country," he added.
Barasa further advised President Uhuru Kenyatta not to use taxpayers money in reaching out to the FBI to conduct investigations into the matter.
He advised that Uhuru should have a sit down with State House Digital Director Dennis Itumbi who is currently in police custody over the alleged assassination letter.
"President Kenyatta should call Itumbi in his office to share the video with him for the president to know what transpired and thereafter, share with Kenyans on what they saw and heard," the Jubilee party MP added.
