The lawmaker had mounted the billboard in Murang'a County on March 1, 2019, to welcome visiting governors and other guests to the 6th devolution conference hosted by Kirinyaga County.

The lawmaker now says that the billboard was pulled down by people with malicious intentions on Sunday night as it was spotted intact on  Sunday evening by road users.

Reacting to the same, he termed it a well-planned move by his detractors as his other billboards in Nyeri and Kiambu Counties are still intact.

"It is a planned move as how can only the billboard at Del Monte area in Murang'a County was pulled down," Said Kuria as quoted by the Standard.

He added that he realised that the billboard was missing while travelling to attend the burial ceremony of Murang'a Senator Irungu Kang'ata's mother Margaret Wangechi Irungu.

Speaking during the service at St Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, the lawmaker said that he has reported the incident to Magnate Company which is responsible for its erection.

He added that a new one will be mounted and guards deployed to protect it.

"I left it to Magnate to report to the police as I make arrangements for its replacement," added that parliamentarian who has since hinted at vying for the presidency in 2022.
