South Mugirango Member of Parliament Silvanus Osoro has criticised the Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i on what he termed as a dictatorship.
The vocal MP said Matiang'i should be held responsible for the increased police harassment on bodaboda riders.
On Sunday speaking at Marongo area in Boikang'a ward, Mr Osoro accused Matiang'i for allowing police officers to continue harassing bodaboda riders who are working hard to place food on the table.
"Matiang'i should stop pretending that he doesn't know how innocent bodaboda riders are being harassed with rogue police officers. The Cabinet Secretary needs to move with speed to ensure every Kenyan is protected no matter what," he said.
The legislator wondered why police officers will continue demanding for bribes when they arrest bodaboda riders instead of arraigning them in court.
The KNC party allied MP reiterated the need for the ministry of Interior under Matiang'i's leadership to spare bodaboda riders.
"It should be known that riders in South Mugirango are not criminals. Matiang'i's men must concentrate on provision of security and not harassing innocent people who are eating from their sweat," he added.
