Five individuals suspected to have been behind the cold blood murder of Rai Cement former general manager Mr Chetan Vyas have been arrested.In a tweet on Saturday morning, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) confirmed the arrests.
The DCI said that the arrests came on the heels of what it called an extensive forensic investigation of the crime scene. Mr Chetan VYas was killed on the night of 22 and 23 September.
"FIVE SUSPECTS connected with the Gruesome Murder of Mr. Chetan VYAS; Former General Manager at RAI Cement Company-Kericho on the night of 22nd & 23rd September, 2019 were today morning arrested by DCI Detectives following Extensive Forensic Investigations of the Crime Scene in..." the DCI tweet read.
Media reports indicate that the suspects may have accessed his bedroom where he was sleeping on the night of his death through the rough.
It was not immediately clear whether the DCI sleuths who arrested the suspects have been able to establish what their motive was in carrying out the gruesome murder.
The five murder suspects are expected to be arraigned in a court of law next week to face an array of murder charges.
