Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has defended the directors of Keroche Breweries billionaires Humphrey kariuki and Tabitha karanja over tax evasion claims.
Hours after the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Nordin Haji ordered for their arrest over tax evasion amounting to Sh14 billion, Ngunyi termed the case as a war between the hustler nation versus dynasties.
He noted that DPP Haji has failed the hustler nation by prosecuting those who have risen from rags to riches through hard work and determination.
He said that the two businesspersons deserve justice from the courts and nothing else.
“Justice is for dynasties. The law is for hustlers. Humphrey kariuki and "Tabitha karanja" are hustlers who made it. They must face the dirty law. Not justice. Now i wonder: who next from the house of hustlers?,” he tweeted.
His remarks come moments after Tabitha came forth and denied the claims that she has evaded paying taxes.
She accused her competitors of plotting to bring her down. She also said that she is perturbed by the fact that she learned about her arrest through social media.
"Am shocked by the new allegations leveled against me, my husband and Keroche Breweries and this is pure malice," she said, as quoted by Standard.
