Amani National Congress (ANC) candidate Eliud Owalo has promised to transform the lives of the residents of Kibra once he is elected into office.
Speaking at Nairobi's Kenyatta market on Sunday, Owalo affirmed that he is the best bet for the seat.
He asked the residents not to abandon him as he seeks to become the next Member of Parliament for the area following the demise of Ken Okoth.
The former aide of ODM leader Raila Odinga pledged to overhaul the entire bursary committee if given the mandate to lead the people of Kibra during the remaining term of leadership.
He said that he has a series of reforms he intends to implement and bursary changes are just among them.
The aspirant also said that he will make sure each of the needy students from the area gets Sh5,000 to Sh10,000 in terms of bursaries to cater for their education needs.
“Getting Constituency Development Fund money is a right for all Kibra constituents. No leader should make you feel like he is doing you a favour by allocating you funds," Owalo said, as quoted by Standard.
The ANC candidate has remained optimistic that he will carry the day during the mini poll scheduled for this Thursday.
