Arati was speaking on Monday at Bobasi constituency during the funeral of former Kisii senator Chris Obure’s brother, Joseph Obure, Arati said he has all it takes to be the community’s spokesperson.

“I have heard some individuals with selfish intentions spreading the propaganda that I am not fit to represent the community as the spokesperson. I wish to assure the community that I am fit for the position and I will perform without failing,” he said.

Arati urged youths to shun leaders who dish out money to buy their support.

"Leaders should be ready to help the youths start small businesses to earn a living and not buying them alcohol to cause mayhem,” he said.

The ODM MP said elected leaders should deliver to the electorates as by the promises they made during the 2017 election campaigns.

Arati added that misuse of public resources in Kisii County should not be condoned since corruption will derail development projects.

This comes after a section of Nyamira county youths claimed that Arati is not fit to represent the community as the spokesperson.
