Jubilee Party has come out to clear the uncertainty surrounding its choice for the 2022 presidential candidate.
This is after reports emerged that the party was planning to lock out Deputy President William Ruto in 2022, going against the MoU signed during the party merger.
According to the initial plan, President Uhuru Kenyatta will back Ruto in 2022 when his term ends.
Through the party's Twitter handle, Jubilee stated that Ruto remains the favorite candidate since nobody has shown interest in the seat.
The announcement comes after the DP appeared on NTV during an interview on Sunday evening where Ruto was put on the spot over Jubilee delivery and corruption. JP has accused NT V of trying to humiliate Ruto during the interview.
"As we stand JP is the biggest party in the Republic and our candidate for 2022 is William Samoei Ruto (no other member has declared interest) despite NTV's best efforts to humiliate him on live TV," stated Jubilee.
Ruto is considered to be a front-runner during the 2022 polls.
