Kakamega Homeboyz has sent packing Ugandan tactician Paul Nkata over allegations of match-fixing according to the Uganda New vision.
As a result, Kenyan international striker Allan Wanga has been appointed to take over the reins of the team on interim capacity.
Homeboyz chairman Cleophas Shimanyula confirmed the sacking of Nkata over match-fixing claims.
"We have reported the matter to the police and a warrant of arrest has been issued against Nkata and his accomplice George Mandela. He was sacked for fixing matches and we established that he had cooperated with about eight players to fix matches. We found out following the players' confession."
Cleophas added that the club will give a comprehensive report on the matter in 7 days' time.
Under the tutelage of Nkata, Kakamega Homeboyz has gone seven matches on a winless streak; they have won only two out of nine games and they will seek to begin on a new page when they host Bandari on Wednesday under the guidance of Wanga.
Meanwhile, FKF President Nick Mwendwa said he was surprised to hear that a coach has been accused of using his players to fix matches and noted that federation will investigate the matter so as to safeguard the sanity of the game.
"Allegedly a coach caught using his players for match-fixing. A new frontier in Kenyan football! We have to up our game now in ensuring we deal with it," wrote Nick Mwendwa
