Interior PS Karanja Kibicho has accused his unnamed detractors of alleged linking him to all matters regarding power wrangles within goverment and State House.
Dr Kibicho, who chairs the powerful implementation committee of Principal Secretaries, is now accused of masterminding troubles of Chief of Staff Nzioka Waita.
With the impending retirement of Head of Civil Service Joseph Kinyua, Mr Waita, a close ally of President Uhuru Kenyatta, is keen to take over.
But reports by the Standard claims that the youthful Nzioka is being frustrated by Kibicho, Njee Muturi and State House Comptroller Kinuthia Mbugua.
And Kibicho now claims he's being dragged to issues that he's not aware. The powerful PS says that he's becoming irritated over the issues.
“Why can’t you just call Kinyua and ask him whether he is retiring? After that, then call Waita to ask him what you are alleging. Kibicho this, Kibicho that is becoming like an old broken record,” he said.
Waita has not reported to his office for the past two weeks nor accompanied the President on a number of occasions as has been the case in the past.
“It is a concern. Waita has been missing lately. He has taken a low profile and has been missing from a number of presidential functions. Something is definitely cooking at State House,” said a top Jubilee MP close to the President.
It's not the first time Kibicho is being dragged to controversy. Recently, a section of Tanga Tanga leaders from Mt Kenya accused him of targeting them.
Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro claimed that his recent troubles with the police were planned by Kibicho, a claim the PS dismissed later on as speculations.
Also, there were reports earlier this year that Deputy President William Ruto clashed with Kibicho at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport where they had gone to receive President Uhuru Kenyatta.
