SDA Pastor Bering Ngore who is a representative from Ranen Conference covering Migori asked politicians who were involved in the chaos that started at Mwalimu Onditi's funeral to apologise to the relatives and church.

“As a church, we will never allow politics in funeral we take part in and won’t allow politicians to take part in our functions to avert further chaos, those involved should seek for forgiveness from the church and family members,” Ngore said on Sunday

Ngore maintained that it was shameful to see the family of the bereaved flee from a funeral instead of mourning.

Differences between Nyatike MP Tom Odege and politicians allied to Migori Governor Okoth Obado played in public at the funeral culminating into a fistfight between the supporters of the two factions.

“Who are these boys who have come to cause chaos here?” Odege posed. Saka Ratteng, one of the Odege's rivals in the 2017 polls responded claiming that young men supporting Odege were causing tension.

Odege in a fit on anger reiterated saying “Saka, can you keep quiet or I will slap you till you pee… if you are a man enough move closer I will show you."
